Ella Benore Rowe is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, community hairdresser, cultural leader, podcaster and educator, business owner and solo Mum. A proud Papua New Guinean / Australian woman whose heritage directs her values and approach, creating contemporary works that centre topics such as womanhood, coming of age, culture, identity, gender, feminism, hair ritual, welfare, spirituality and sexuality. Her mediums also include painting, photography, film, collage and writing. With a passion for Social Justice her work uses layers of symbolism and motif to tell true stories as well as project manifestations. Her new paintings are collaborations with her daughter, Kemiannah.
