Artist

Chunxiao Qu

Chunxiao Qu is a Chinese-born artist and poet who lives and works in Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woiwurrung and Boonwurrung Country). She is the author of two books of poetry and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Australia and internationally.

Her practice is largely focused on language, spanning various mediums including installation, sculpture, painting, print-making, and poetry writing. Both her poetry and art explore the flexibility and contradictions of language in attempts to posit questions and test truisms on contemporary precarity and beauty. Her work is at once concise and deeply inquisitive; playful and pointed.
