Arty Owens (They/Them) is a queer chronically ill writer based in Naarm (Melbourne). Their writing is informed by their experience with pain, mental health and a devastating awkward existence. They dabble in non-fiction, middle grade, young adult and song writing. As a writer they have been awarded a Varuna fellowship (2023), the Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship and a scholarship at Faber Writing Academy (2020).
