Returning in-person over a whole weekend at EWF24, the 2024 National Writers’ Conference is the place for emerging writers to advance their skills, hear from leaders in the literary sphere, and forge connections within the publishing industry.
As the centrepiece event of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, the National Writers’ Conference informs and inspires writers of all genres and styles, and features publishing professionals, fellow emerging writers, and literary virtuosos. Audiences will walk away with new friends, professional contacts, and a plethora of fresh knowledge and inspiration.

You can also add on a Pitch It! session with an Australian publisher! As part of the 2024 National Writers’ Conference, we’re offering a chance to get pitch coaching and to practice pitching to an Australian publisher. After your coaching at the Conference, you’ll receive a digital invitation to your 5-minute Pitch It! session, which will run strictly on 15 September 2024.

PLEASE NOTE: While the pitch coaching takes place during the Conference. For accessibility reasons, the Pitch It! sessions will be taking place online on 15 September 2024. If you book a Pitch-It! session, please ensure your availability on both dates.
