Speaking to Pictures

Christine Chanty is a lifelong memoirist whose childhood diaries inspired her to study a Bachelor of Creative Writing. When writing, she loves to highlight her Lao heritage and perspective as an Asian woman in Australia. She also loves to interview and profile fellow creatives, and is working on her parents’ memoir – she truly believes everyone’s story deserves to be told! When not writing, you’ll find her at an indie cinema, thrift shopping, baking, or singing karaoke.

Stacy is an illustrator, radio presenter and Eisner Award–nominated cartoonist whose work has appeared in publications like The Washington Post, Fantagraphics NOW and VICE. They are currently working on their debut graphic novel, Bivouac, which will be published by Fantagraphics.

Charles Roper is a writer and artist whose work focuses on mixed forms and clashes. He works predominantly with non-fiction comics and as a punk musician. He believes in goblins that run around and take treasure from bad children.

Elodie Khan is a 21-year-old emerging writer, illustrator, and comic-maker based in Naarm. She is the creator of Safeword, a self-published comic series, co-founder of Sinister Graphics, an independent comics anthology, and a proud asthmatic.
