NWC – Finding the Energy: Structure, Story and Sentence

We can think of energy in fiction as the force that keeps someone reading. For every work, this energy will be different: speed, suspense, strangeness, subtlety, mystery, rhythm or fearlessness, to mention just a few. Whatever your process, finding the right structure is often a question of learning to recognise where the energy is coming from.

In this session, novelist and Faber Writing Academy Writing a Novel tutor Miles Allinson will examine the idea of energy. Through a variety of literary examples, explore ways of tapping the energy in your own work.
