Faber Writing Academy Anthology Launch
Head on down to The Wheeler Centre for the launch of the 2026 Faber Writing Anthology, featuring readings from submission-ready graduates of the Writing a Novel program alongside students from Writing a Creative Nonfiction Book. Hosted by author, tutor and Faber Writing Academy Manager, Pip Smith, this is your chance to meet tutors Miles Allinson and Luke Horton and glimpse a range of excerpts from unpublished manuscripts, each of which creates an intriguing and often magical world for readers to explore.

Miles Allinson
Miles Allinson is the author of two novels; Fever of Animals, and In Moonland.
Luke Horton
Luke Horton is a writer and musician from Naarm/Melbourne. He is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, The Fogging (2020) and Time Together (2025), and his work has appeared in various publications, including Overland, The Guardian, and Meanjin. The former editor of The Lifted Brow Review of Books, he currently teaches creative writing at RMIT and the Faber Writing Academy, and is a member of acclaimed indie-rock band Love of Diagrams.
Pip Smith
Pip Smith is the author of the novels Half Wild, and The Pull of the Moon, the poetry collection Too Close for Comfort and the children’s picture books Theodore the Unsure and To Greenland! She teaches Writing a Novel (Sydney) for the Faber Writing Academy where she also works as manager.
