Melbourne Writers Festival and Emerging Writers’ Festival are proud to partner to bring you insights into the 2025 Melbourne Writers Festival through the eyes of emerging writers and creatives.

These digital reporters are local creatives responding to this year’s Melbourne Writers Festival, engaging with Melbourne’s literary festivals on a deeper level. As a filmmaker, Stephanie Ongkowijoyo created this short in response the MWF’s upcoming 2025 program of events.

Stephanie Ongkowijoyo is a Chinese Indonesian artist residing in Naarm/Melbourne. Her experiences and introduction to different cultures influences her creative direction and artistic approach. She engages in multidisciplinary art and finds enjoyment in creating through mixed media. Aside from being a dancer, she is also a filmmaker amongst other things. Her works often reflect the collision of these two worlds.
