Returning in-person over a whole weekend at EWF25, the 2025 National Writers’ Conference is the place for emerging writers to advance their skills, hear from literary industry experts, and network with publishing professionals.
As the centrepiece event of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, running 13-14 September, the National Writers’ Conference informs and inspires writers of all genres and styles, and features publishing professionals, fellow emerging writers, and literary virtuosos. Audiences will walk away with new friends, professional contacts, and a plethora of fresh knowledge and inspiration.

If you’re unable to attend in-person, there will be the option to purchase a digital pass when full-priced tickets become available. This pass will give you access to the conference livestream.

You can also add a Pitch-It! session with a national publisher! As part of the 2025 National Writers’ Conference, we’re offering pitch coaching and a chance to practice pitching to Australian publishers. After your coaching at the Conference, you’ll receive a digital invitation to your 5-minute Pitch-It! session, which will run strictly on Saturday 20 September 2025.

PLEASE NOTE: While the pitch coaching takes place during the Conference. For accessibility reasons, the Pitch-It! sessions will be taking place online on Saturday 20 September 2025. If you book a Pitch-It! session, please ensure your availability on both dates.
