Independent Journalism in Today’s Political Climate

What does it mean to report truthfully when the ground keeps shifting beneath us? In an era of shrinking newsrooms and weaponised distrust, independent journalism faces unprecedented challenges and urgent opportunities.

Join Antoun Issa (Deepcut News), Soaliha Iqbal (ETTE), and Jordan Silverstein for a conversation about sustaining critical reporting in hostile conditions. From navigating censorship to building reader trust, this conversation explores the practical and ethical questions facing those who refuse to look away in this post-truth moment. Moderated by Evelyn Araluen (Overland).
