Ariel Ries

Ariel Slamet Ries is a Naarm-based, Ignatz-award winning cartoonist and author of the comics Witchy, Cry Wolf Girl, and Strange Bedfellows. After studying animation in Denmark for 4 years, they lost their degree in the post and unceremoniously bumbled into making comics for a living. They’re interested in using a fantastical lens to examine the mundane, and curating empathy for flawed characters. They’d also like to have a dog someday.
