In this video tutorial, comic artist extraordinaire Mia Nie covers the fundamentals of making comics. She explains the principles of comics and graphic storytelling: writing, panelling and visual style, all the while using different examples to demonstrate from her own wide-ranging work.

Mia Nie is a Chinese-Australian comic artist, zine-maker, and award-nominated ex-poet. She has been published in Pencilled In, The Suburban Review, Comic Sans Journal, Strange Horizons, and Castles in the Sky.
