EWF X & Performance

EWF X Schizy Inc: Gnarly Writers

In writing, our past and present are returned to us, and in using our own gnarly voices to speak the words, we get to create the ending…

Gnarly Writers celebrates storytellers who’ve been in the public mental health system for decades. These artists will bring you insights into the system and into healing, which might just come in handy to anyone starting out on a mental health lived experience apprenticeship or seeking validation for a lifetime of service. This event emphasizes that writing one’s own story can be more than a chance to impart words of wisdom: it’s also an act of freedom from a lifetime of being recorded.

With Gemma Mahadeo, Michel Tuomy, Adam Pollock, Maggie Toko, Isabella Fels, Michelle Morris, Heidi Everett, Naomi Fryers, Jenny Hickinbotham and Tom Polachek
