The word ‘crip’ was once used to discriminate. But today, it is reclaimed and celebrated.
Our partnered MWF session brings together contributors and editors of the Mascara Literary Review’s new anthology ‘Crip Stories’ to discuss the vibrant and diverse experiences of disabled people – from living with chronic illness to navigating the world with physical, neurological or neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Join contributing writers Akii Ngo, Ann Nguyễn and Arty Owens, and anthology co-editors Laura Pettenuzzo and BS Windon, for a discussion about what it means to write disability, the importance of amplifying first-person narrative voices with lived experience, and how their work advocates for disability rights, intersectionality, accessibility and inclusion.
Grab your tickets and check out the full MWF program on their website!
In partnership with Melbourne Writers Festival.
